Norfolk Southern's Washington job had a former Reading Railroad locomotive as it's only unit. NS GP40-2 #3000 was running long hood forward at CP PHILLIPSBURG on The Washington Secondary. The #3000 was ex-Conrail GP40-2 #3275, nee-Reading #3671, built 12/73 and now wearing NS horesehead paint scheme.
As the H65 was coming over the Delaware R. on the old CNJ bridge, westbound NS empty autorack train, 11J, came to a stop on the Lehigh line just west of the interlocking to wait for the local to clear.
